Mommy Makeover in Bend, Oregon

A mommy makeover is a personalized combination of procedures designed to restore the breasts and body after pregnancy, breastfeeding, and the changes that come with motherhood. At Alpenaura Plastic Surgery in Bend, Oregon, Dr. Jourdan Carboy, MD, designs mommy makeovers for patients across Central Oregon and the Pacific Northwest who want to feel at home in their bodies again — combining procedures thoughtfully so that one surgery and one recovery accomplish what would otherwise take several.

PERSONALIZED APPROACH

Pregnancy changes the body in ways that diet and exercise cannot fully reverse. The abdominal muscles can separate, skin stretched by pregnancy may not fully retract, and the breasts often lose volume, descend, or change shape after breastfeeding. A mommy makeover addresses these changes together — one operation, one recovery, and a plan built entirely around what pregnancy changed for you.

Restore your body. Reclaim your confidence.

Restore your body. Reclaim your confidence.

The most common mommy makeover pairs an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) — which repairs separated muscles, removes excess skin, and restores the waistline — with breast surgery tailored to your anatomy: a breast lift, breast augmentation, augmentation with lift, or breast reduction. Liposuction of the flanks or other areas is frequently added to refine the overall contour. There is no fixed menu; Dr. Carboy builds each plan around your goals.

Who is a candidate for a mommy makeover?

Who is a candidate for a mommy makeover?

Good candidates are healthy women who have finished having children, are at or near a stable weight, and are bothered by post-pregnancy changes to the abdomen, breasts, or both. Because pregnancy after a tummy tuck can compromise the muscle repair, Dr. Carboy generally recommends waiting until your family is complete. Patients who breastfed should typically wait at least six months after weaning so breast size and shape have stabilized. Non-smokers heal best, and realistic expectations matter: a mommy makeover restores and refines — it is not a substitute for weight loss.

Why patients seek mommy makeovers in Central Oregon.

Why patients seek mommy makeovers in Central Oregon.

Mothers in Bend, Redmond, Sisters, Sunriver, Prineville, and across the Pacific Northwest lead active lives — chasing kids up trails, paddleboarding the Deschutes, skiing Bachelor — and many tell Dr. Carboy that post-pregnancy changes interfere with how they move, dress, and feel in their own skin. Separated abdominal muscles weaken the core that hiking and skiing depend on. A mommy makeover offers a comprehensive reset in a single recovery — a meaningful consideration for busy mothers who can arrange childcare and time away once, but not three times.

What to expect.

What to expect.

A mommy makeover is performed under general anesthesia, typically as an outpatient procedure or with a single overnight stay depending on the combination. Surgery generally takes three to five hours depending on the procedures included. Recovery is driven primarily by the tummy tuck component: most patients feel meaningfully better by two weeks, return to desk work in two to three weeks, and resume light exercise around four to six weeks, with core work and heavy lifting restricted for about eight weeks. You will need dedicated help with young children for at least the first one to two weeks. Swelling settles over several months, with the final contour emerging as tissues soften and scars begin to fade.

Questions,
Answered With Care

We understand that choosing a procedure is a deeply personal decision. Here are answers to some of the most common questions about treatment, recovery, results, and the overall Alpenaura experience.

The combination is customized, but the most common pairing is a tummy tuck with breast surgery — a lift, augmentation, augmentation with lift, or reduction — often with liposuction of the flanks or hips. At your consultation, Dr. Carboy examines what pregnancy changed for you and recommends the combination that addresses it most effectively in a single operation.

Most surgeons recommend waiting at least six months after your last pregnancy — and at least six months after weaning, if you breastfed — so that your weight, breast size, and tissues have stabilized. Just as important, you should feel confident your family is complete, since a future pregnancy can stretch the repaired abdominal muscles and compromise your result.

For healthy patients, yes — combining procedures in a single operation is well established and avoids the risks and recovery of multiple separate surgeries. Safety is protected through careful patient selection, appropriate limits on total operative time, and surgery in an accredited facility with qualified anesthesia providers. Dr. Carboy will review your health history and advise whether combining — or staging — is the right plan for you.

Plan on two to three weeks before returning to desk work and most daily routines, with the first week being the most demanding. Light exercise typically resumes around four to six weeks, and core workouts and heavy lifting at about eight weeks. Because lifting is restricted early on, you'll need help with young children for at least the first one to two weeks.

Partially, and honestly: stretch marks located on the skin removed during a tummy tuck — typically below the belly button — are gone with that skin. Stretch marks above the incision or on the breasts remain, though they may appear less prominent once the skin is redraped and tightened. Dr. Carboy will show you at your consultation exactly which areas your surgical plan would and would not address.

Cost depends on which procedures are combined, operative time, anesthesia, and facility fees — which is why quotes are individualized. At your consultation, you will receive a detailed, all-inclusive quote for your specific surgical plan. Financing options, including monthly payment plans through Cherry® and PatientFi®, are available, and combining procedures in one operation is generally more economical than staging them separately.
